The Bacoon Ride

It is with great sadness that we are notifying you of the cancellation of Bacoon 7 for 2020 and rescheduling the event to June 19, 2021.

The safety of our participants, volunteers, and communities is our highest priority. We work diligently to ensure you are able to participate in a well run, safe, enjoyable event on Iowa’s trails.

As we seek to limit the contact between participants, volunteers, and staff for Bacoon, we struggled to plan for numbers to ensure the following of CDC guidelines to have adequate restrooms, handwashing facilities, and food stations.

We base our planning on the number of participants who have registered and paid for the event. Unfortunately, in past years, many people have attended the event without registering and paying. Due to this trend, we are concerned that we will have an influx of people who show up at Bacoon and we will not have the facilities or capacity to provide our registered participants with the experience they have come to enjoy and expect.

Like to ride Bicycles?  Like Bacon? Like the Raccoon River Valley Trail? Put it all together and you have the BACooN RIDE starting and ending in Waukee.  Enjoy a 71-mile on the scenic Raccoon River Valley Trail featuring bacon specialty foods along the way.
